Lincoln Cushing, October 28, 2025
As part of its movement propaganda efforts, Inkworks Press published a free monthly "East Bay Community Calendar of political and cultural events" from June, 1976 to January, 1980. They were two sides of a 17x22" sheet and document the extensive and powerful social justice community. Published in editions of 10,000, volunteers distributed them throughout Berkeley and Oakland and many were mailed out.
This was "old school" offset printing, involving typesetting by David Blake, pasted up art, silver-based film camerawork, stripping, and metal plates.
Cover illustrations by Bay Area
artists including Malaquias Montoya, Juan Fuentes, Deborah Green, Rini Templeton, and Rachael Romero.
